What to Expect at Chiropractic Wellness Centre

A Warm Welcome

You will be welcomed by one of our chiropractic assistants, Adele and Eileen. They will ask you to fill in a form about yourself and will be happy to help you.

Consultation, Examination and Report of Findings

The chiropractor will ask you detailed questions about you and your symptoms as well as your lifestyle and your health and medical history before carrying out a thorough examination of your spine. Your previous history may be highly relevant to your current condition and it is important that we gather this information to make sure it is safe and appropriate for a Chiropractor to treat you. You will be asked questions about your symptoms, such as how long you have had them, exactly where you feel them and what kind of pain it is.

For the examination you will be asked to change into a gown as this will make it easier for the chiropractor to perform a thorough and more specific examination. However, on your subsequent visits it will not be necessary to change clothes. The chiropractor will especially pay attention to your spine and carry out many orthopaedic and neurological tests including functional spinal tests. We’ll both learn an awful lot about your body during this visit!

Occasionally X-rays or even MRI scans may be required, in which case you will be referred out – either to your GP or privately.

Following the consultation and examination a “report of findings” will be given to you by your chiropractor who will discuss the findings of the examination and propose a care program that is specific and individual to you as to how we will treat your condition. This includes spinal adjustments, exercises and advice. All new patients will also have access to the complimentary Health Risk Assessment (HRA) which assesses stresses to our bodies and our overall health.

Follow up or Regular Visits

Because we’re aware that our patient’s time is precious, we strive to make the rest of your visits to the clinic for your treatments as efficient as possible. You will receive a text message reminder 24hrs before your appointment if requested.
Your chiropractor will explain exactly what each adjustment is for and offer advice on managing your symptoms. The Chiropractor will share their knowledge and experience to coach you towards better health choices, with the aim of keeping your symptoms at bay.
A treatment can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes but the good news is that the time taken is tailored to what is specifically required for you. Also because we don’t charge based on time taken, the amount you pay will always be the same even if your case requires longer to treat than usual. If when you come for a routine treatment we find that no treatment is needed, we will not charge you as we only ever charge if treatment is given. The check up is free!

Relief Care or Initial Intensive Care

This is designed to stabilise your spine and to begin to improve its function as quickly as possible. When beginning care, adjustments are relatively frequent to maximise their effect.

Rehabilitative Care

This stage involves continuing adjustments on a less frequent basis to return the function of your spine, as near as possible, to “normal.”Generally the longer your spine has been working incorrectly, the longer it will take to change.

Maintenance Care

Regular visits are scheduled to maintain previous improvements and help you minimise recurrences resulting from the grind of daily life.

Wellness Care

At its simplest, the key to wellness is to eat well, move well and think well.

Modern lifestyles do not involve enough movement in many of our joints. The most essential part of chiropractic care is spinal adjustment, which aims to regain lost spinal movement.

We also offer advice and workshops on healthy eating and developing positive thought patterns to help you stay well.

Complimentary Spinal Assessment

(10 minutes)
This gives you the opportunity to briefly discuss your case with our chiropractor to get an opinion on whether you are a suitable candidate for chiropractic care. The complimentary assessment will not incur any expense or obligation.

Whilst the chiropractor may perform a few tests, this is not a full consultation or examination.

Health Risk Assessment (HRA)

The Wellness and Prevention Solutions Health Risk Assessment helps both practitioners and patients identify which past, current, and future lifestyle habits, including chiropractic care, are determining current and future health and quality of life. To read more go to
